Research advertising

I think the college website does not advertise our course as well as it could. For example, on the city bus televisions there is an advert for Plymouth City Colleges' sixth form advert, advertising a similar course to us. It consists of an after effects sort of presentation in which students digital animations and stills are displayed on a different TV screens which transforms out of the wall. Its a kind of 3DS Max animation which all of the students work is displayed. I think that this is a good idea because the only real way to sell the course to people is to show what the course can offer you. This is why i was thinking of creating a presentation sort of animation with students work from all over the course. From years 1 to BA (Hons) 3rd year degree, we could show all different styles of work and a variety of them.

What the Plymouth City College advert lacks is telling you what the course is about. I think if we used some type of typography we could get the point across about some of the units in each of the years. We could then show work of that unit using a stylistic presentation.

I think making it look professional will be important. If we are trying to sell the course we want to make sure that we have the best quality and ideas. Therefore we should research presentations and portfolio's using this technique. Also by making a questionnaire to see what people know and think about the course will be important so that we can add the relevant things that they need to know about.
